The Saturday Salon

The Saturday Salon is an irregular author event held at Literary Bookpost on Saturday afternoons throughout the year.  The primary purpose of the Salon is to host local and regional authors who have recently published books either through small press publishers or by self-publishing.  From time to time we may host authors from larger publishing houses.

The Salon is designed to give authors a chance to meet, greet, and chat with customers, share their stories, and provide a venue for signing books.  Authors wishing to appear at a Salon should contact Deal at Literary Bookpost at least 4 weeks prior to their desired appearance, should be prepared to provide a reading copy of their work and biographical information about themselves, and must agree to the standard terms of sale through Literary Bookpost for their books.

The Salon is always open to the public for attendance and participation.  Normal scheduled hours are Saturday afternoons 1:30-3:30 p.m., though time is subject to change to fit a particular author’s schedule.  Please check this website frequently for scheduled events and exact times.  All events are also publicized on the Book Page of the Salisbury Post the Sunday prior to the event.

"Shrimp, Collards and Grits"...recipes from the creeks and gardens of the South Carolina Lowcountry is now available. This is a beautiful cookbook that pays tribute to Beaufort, S.C. with a collection of 400 time-honored, traditional and contemporary recipes. It also features outstanding artwork by local artists capturing the essence of this unique and graceful seaport town. I am the author who lived in Beaufort for many years and collected recipes from some of the finest cooks. Of particular interest are the unigue dishes gathered from the Gullah natives, the descendents of slaves who work and live on the barrier islands. I would be interested in doing a book signing at the Literary Bookpost. Patricia Branning
